BWCE Fund Focus: All Saints Centre, Weston
All Saints Centre, Weston received a grant towards a draught proof inner entry door to prevent heat loss and reduce carbon emissions for their popular and well used community centre.
The All Saints Centre serves the local community in Weston, Bath, where you can hire their rooms for wedding receptions, conferences, meetings and parties. It also has several community groups that use the facilities.
Both the original entrance door and glass doors behind them were not draught-proof or energy efficient, creating a cold reception area during the winter which was uncomfortable for groups using the space. Therefore the main wooden doors had to be closed making the entrance unwelcome and difficult for visitors to know if the Centre was even open.
Now the room is significantly warmer and much easier for staff to welcome people and they are pleased that groups are now going to be able to use the reception area as a warm and inviting space.
Peter Heywood from All Saints Centre, Weston shows us the new door.
