Annual Report 2024/25 available
BWCE is pleased to be able to share the 2024/25 Annual Report showcasing the impact and achievements over the last financial year, which happens to be the 15th year since the launch of Bath & West Community Energy.
In 2024/25 we:
Installed 375 kW across four schools and social enterprises
Received planning approval for a 2 MW solar array with high biodiversity improvements
Grew our new project pipeline to over 70 MW
A further £40,500 was invested into the BWCE Fund to support local community projects, taking the total to £430,000 since 2015
Whilst not all of these projects will come to fruition it has given us the confidence to set ambitious goals of quadrupling our existing renewables capacity over the next 5 years to 2030 - details of which are available in our 2025-2030 Business Plan
But it has been far from all about renewable projects with the very successful full launch of our Home Energy Service over winter 2024. The launch was supported by a wide range of exciting partnership initiatives including Green Open Homes, Green Heritage Homes, Home Energy Neighbourhoods. Underpinning all of this has been the launch of the Community Energy Network, providing a platform for us to engage far more with communities across our area, work with people’s concerns and increase participation in the energy transition in the coming years.
All in all a great deal for the team and members to be proud of.
