Our latest share offer has passed the half a million mark. Thanks to all our new members and the existing members who have invested more in community owned renewable energy. This means we’ve raised £10 million in community shares and bonds since we started in 2010.
The next two share allocation deadlines are midnight on 31st July (tonight) and then 30th September. Apply HERE.
And where will the money be going?
Currently, through our Community Solar 2020 project, we have enough solar generation under development, on rooftops and ground mounted arrays, to nearly double our existing capacity. Some of these projects could fall by the wayside and some could take 1-2 years to build. But if all these projects got installed (or replaced by others as necessary) we could be generating enough clean energy to supply the annual equivalent electricity demand of around 8,000 typical homes (7.5% of the households across our area).
Not a bad goal for the next couple of years! More details will be shared as plans come to fruition. Watch this space!
