At BWCE we have a vision for an energy system where local people can buy clean energy direct from local energy projects owned and shaped by their communities.  Currently legislation makes it very hard to do this but we anticipate this will change. In the meantime, we are carrying out trials using the Energy Local model to help us move closer to our vision.

As part of these trials, we are setting up a Focus Group and are looking for participants. We would love to hear from you if:

  • You are intrigued about the possibility of buying locally generated renewables.
  • You want to explore how to balance saving the planet and ensuring your household budget adds up.
  • You are prepared to ask questions to challenge/test our proposals.

The Focus Group will meet three times during the Autumn to help us test out the viability of the Energy Local model for BWCE, including:

  • How attractive it would be for local householders and how likely people would be to get involved.
  • How we can address any real or perceived barriers
  • How we could best communicate the offer as clearly as possible

Please note: meetings will be held in Bath, in the evening, so we apologise if this would prevent you from being involved. Participation in the Focus Group is purely voluntary.  Travel expenses to meetings will be reimbursed but no other compensation will be provided by BWCE.

If you are interested and want to know more, including a more detailed terms of reference, please email [email protected] by Wednesday 28th August.
