Lorna Montgomery explains how Bath Share & Repair are seeking volunteers and some particular items for two new and interesting projects, one of which has been supported by the BWCE Fund.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

We are developing an exciting project (thanks to funding from BWCE) to encourage people to look at their carbon footprint and find practical ways to reduce it, in particular their attitude to waste. We will do this in our shop on Broad Street (when we reopen) and deliver to Primary Schools. Are you enthusiastic or knowledgeable about the environment and keen to participate as a volunteer on our advisory team or to research or deliver this project to year 5/6/7 much later in the year (September)?

HomeKit Needs Donations of Kettles, Toasters and Irons

HomeKit draws on skilled volunteers to recondition donated items and works with local charities to distribute them to low-income households. The project aims to break the cycle of poor-quality, throw-away appliances and provides a kit of home-essentials for people in need.

What do we need?
Donations of clean good-quality kettles, toasters and irons. If not in working order, they must be in a repairable condition (Please include instructions if available)

Where can you donate?
Please drop off donations at the Share and Repair Shop, 8 Broad Street, Bath BA1 5LJ.
Opening times:
Wed 10am – 12pm
Sat 10am – 12pm

If you live in Bath, you can request items to be collected by our electric cargo bike. We can only collect from within the city limits. There is a £2 charge per journey for collection.

Your support is invaluable to our work to reduce carbon emissions. If you can help with either of these projects please contact us. Thank you!
