Jon Bateman

Jon is a civil engineer, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management and former Director of a technical audit business within the Halcrow Group.

Following a career with consulting engineers which involved him in strategic business planning, infrastructure delivery and private finance in water, rail and energy businesses; he now works as consultant to regulators of UK water businesses assisting them with price controls, efficiency reviews, funding of investment plans and performance assessments.

His professional experience includes setting prices and service standards for Defra, Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation, Ofwat, Office of Rail Regulation and Ofgem across their respective regulatory sectors.

Jon has served on the Editorial Panel for the Institution of Civil Engineers and volunteers with a nationwide support organisation assisting vulnerable groups. He is currently a member of the Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Shadow Community Operations Board Wiltshire Council responsible for developing local community hub facilities.

He lives in Wiltshire, where he is an active long-distance walker and has a keen interest preserving our rich environmental heritage.
