Be Part of the Solution: Help us Choose Local Environmental Projects to Fund

In 2014, renewable energy co-operative Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE) set up a community fund to redistribute its surplus income to local community projects. Best known as the BWCE Fund, our charity has so far given out grants of over £170,000 to local charities, volunteer organisations and community groups. We fund projects that reduce carbon emissions and/or tackle fuel poverty.

We are looking for three new Trustees, one of which will be our new Treasurer. We welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds, who are as varied and passionate for change as the communities we serve.

Your role would be to:

  • Play a key part in deciding how our funding from BWCE is spent each year
  • Help to shape the future of our charity and make positive change happen in our local community
  • Be an enthusiastic, energetic ambassador for environmental and climate issues
  • Attend 4-5 meetings a year in Bath during normal office hours

Don’t be afraid to apply. Enthusiasm and passion for environmental issues are at least as important to us as previous experience and we are happy to mentor less experienced applicants. Trustees must be aged 16 or over and please note that being a Trustee is an unpaid, voluntary role.

You can download a Trustee Specification at BWCE Fund Trustee Spec 2020

To apply please send a covering letter and CV to [email protected]. Feel free to email us if you would like to discuss the role further before you apply. Be prepared to attend an informal interview in Bath, which will also give you a chance to find out more about us, and to provide one personal or work reference upon request.

Deadline for applications: Thursday 30th April 2020.
