Jolyon is a co-founder and director of Luminous Energy Ltd, a developer of utility scale solar and energy storage projects. Since 2013 the company has developed 9 solar farms in the UK and is now working on projects in several overseas markets. He participates in all aspects of the development process and has extensive experience of originating and developing greenfield opportunities through to construction, including negotiating with planning authorities, landowners, contractors, grid operators and investors.
Jolyon initiated and formalised a co-development agreement with a community energy company which enabled two of Luminous Energy’s solar farms to be financed via a solar bond portfolio raised from community investors (£6m for a 9.2MW project in Kent and £5.8m for a 10.3MW project in Warwickshire).
Prior to Luminous Energy he worked as a sustainability and climate change consultant in the UK and Australia, assisting private and public sector organisations incorporate sustainability and climate change considerations into the planning, design, construction and maintenance of major infrastructure projects.
Jolyon holds Masters of Environment and Sustainability from Monash University in Melbourne.
