We are delighted to announce that after 10 years the Green Open Homes weekend is back!

Join us on the 4th and 5th November, 2023

This weekend will be celebrating homes in and around Bath that have incorporated energy efficient features and we are inviting you to be a part of it.

The Green Open Homes B&NES weekend is a great way to find out about the reality of getting solar panels, insulation, triple glazing, or new heating options without talking to a salesman. You can have a good look at the technology, ask the home owners whether the installation was a hassle, and find out much they’re really saving on their energy bills as a result.

Get Involved!

We would love to have your help, as a home opener, sponsor, or volunteer.

Home Openers:

We are seeking residents of energy efficient homes of all types, large and small, old and new, rented and owned. If you have made positive changes to your home and would like to share your knowledge to help others save energy, get in touch! We support home openers to ensure a manageable and positive experience.

Sponsors:

Green Open Homes B&NES is free to attend and relies on the generous sponsorship of businesses and organisations. This high-profile event is an excellent way to showcase the eco-credentials of your organisation to an enthusiastic audience.

Volunteers:

We will need a large number of volunteers to support the home openers and make the event run smoothly. In past years, volunteers have greatly enjoyed taking part in such an inspiring event. Volunteers are needed for the Open Homes weekend and for the preparation, so whether you have a little or a lot of time to help, please get in touch!

Our Partners:

A Proud History

Open Homes weekends were run in 2011, 2012 and 2014 as ‘Bath Green Homes’. They were highly successful and inspiring events. Each saw 15-20 homes opening, over 700 visits, 70 volunteers and dozens of local sponsors.

They were run by a partnership of Transition Bath, Bath & North East Somerset Council and Bath Preservation Trust, who are joining forces again, now with BWCE and Buro Happold, for the 2023 event.
