Get Involved
Local people created BWCE and made it what it is today. Now at this crucial time for the planet, we need more people to join our community energy movement.
Invest and Become a Member
We continually look to raise community investment to enable us to install new solar PV systems across schools and other buildings helping them save money and reduce their environmental impact.
The minimum investment is £100 with a target annual interest rate of 5% (subject to performance). All members, regardless of how much they invest, will become voting members of BWCE with one member one vote, joining us on our mission to support communities and tackle the climate crisis.
Help us to spread the word
Do you have links with an organisation or network that can help promote our work (e.g. via a business contact, newsletter, talk or a local event)?
Are you happy to share our information in a community Facebook Group or on Next Door, LinkedIn or other social media?
Would you be willing to distribute leaflets/poster in your local area?
Or anything else you can do to help us to spread the word?
Get involved in Green Open Homes
BWCE are leading on a partnership delivering Green Open Homes B&NES to showcase homes that have made energy efficiency improvements.
Following successful events in Bath and the Chew Valley in November 2023 we are aiming to run more Green Open Homes across Bath & North East Somerset up until March 2025. To do this we need people to get involved as local organisers, home openers and volunteers. BWCE will support all participants and our aim is to create a supportive network of likeminded and passionate people.
Be a trustee for our community fund
The BWCE Fund is an independent charity governed by volunteer trustees distributing grants to community projects. The Fund is made up of surplus income from BWCE’s renewable generating projects and the grants go to local charities and community groups making environmental improvements, reducing carbon emissions, and fighting fuel poverty. The Quartet Community Foundation providing administrative support to the process of grant making.
We are always interested in hearing from anyone who would like to be a trustee.
