Projects funded in 2016

In 2016 the Community Fund awarded just under £45,000 to 11 projects:

Friends of St Saviour’s Infant School

Summary – funding to install solar pv panels on the school roof and to fund energy efficiency measures.
Amount awarded: £10,000.

Congratulations to St Saviours Nursery and Infants who received the 2016 headline grant of £10,000 towards 50% of the installation cost of solar panels on the school roof with the remainder to energy conservation measures. The panels will provide about 1/4  of the electricity needed during term time and an income during the school holidays.

Carers Centre B&NES (Care Network)

Summary – Upgrade lighting system in Carers Centre
Amount awarded £5000.

Time Bank Plus

Summary – To fund a development worker to train and support local people to grow fruit and vegetables.
Amount awarded: £4,950.

Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon

Summary – Expand their energy efficiency work with households via an increased thermal imaging programme, promotion of LEDs and better information about energy use, and encourage local shopping on foot
Amount awarded: £2,000.

First Steps (Bath)

Summary – To commission an energy assessment report that allows the Charity to make decisions on how to make their building become more energy efficient.
Amount awarded: £466.


Summary – To install a dropped ceiling with insulation.
Amount awarded: £1,165.

Percy Community Centre

Summary – To complete installation of energy efficient LED lighting
Amount awarded: £2,640.

Widcombe Association

Summary – To provide in depth support to 4 local businesses with regard to their energy efficiency and provide a report of their findings
Amount awarded: £3,390.

Resource Futures

Summary – To initiate a textile recycling programme in 5 primary schools and report on the carbon saved.
Amount awarded: £4,994.

The Old School Room (Chew Magna)

Summary – To contribute to upgrading the lighting in the community hall to energy efficient standards.
Amount awarded: £5,000.

Transition Bath – Energy Group

Summary – to purchase a Blower Door to identify and eliminate draughts in buildings
Amount awarded: £5,000.
