BWCE Fund 2018 Allocations

Just over £27,500 has been awarded from the BWCE Fund in 2018 to the following 10 community projects.

Wellow Village Shop Association £625 To reduce the energy consumed by the shop through replacing old and outdated fridges/ freezers.
Friends of Roundhill Primary School £650 To reduce carbon emissions by making better use of the boiler/heating system at this school site in South Bath.
Bath Spa Students’ Union £2,825 To work with students volunteers to deliver simple and inexpensive methods of keeping student housing insulated
SWALLOW £1,476 To carry out work on the charities new premises with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and improving working conditions.
Bath Share & Repair £3,878 To develop the Bath Repair Cafe with the aim of increasing re-use by repairing items in order to reduce use of landfill and to do so in a “cafe” style which helps reduce isolation and helps build a sense of community.
Transition Bath £3,400 To fund a feasibility study for a larger project which aims to promote a modal shift in transport of commuters in Bath from using cars to bicycles; to reduce CO2 emissions, air pollution and to improve the health of those taking part in the project.
Camerton Community Hall £2,500 To upgrade and improve the insulation in the Community Hall.
Bath Carnival £4,790 To reduce the carbon emissions generated through the annual Carnival and to promote the group’s target for reduced emissions and to raise awareness of that aim.
Centre For Sustainable Energy £4,240 Toward the cost of providing door-to-door energy advice (with follow-up support offered), and 2 energy advice events in the Radstock and Midsomer Norton areas.
Time Bank Plus £3,145 For the continuation of the “Borrow it” library of things project that provides a bank of practical items that the community can loan.
