Peter is a qualified teacher. He has worked in inner-city schools in London and Birmingham. He left teaching to go into the life insurance industry, first as a Sales Manager then a Training Manager.
Since moving to Bath in 1990 he has been involved in many community and sustainability projects including the setting up of Britain’s first farmers’ market, starting a Car Share Club in Bath, a Local Exchange and Trade Scheme (LETS) and been chair of several environmental groups, including Bath Organic Group and Transition Bath. He was an advisor to the Local Agenda 21 committee and is currently a sustainability advisor to the B&NES Local Strategic Partnership.
He owns and runs eco-logic books a small publishing house which specialises in books and other media that provide practical solutions to environmental problems.
